III. Techniques
Hello and welcome to Techniques 101! I am your teacher, Century0. Please sit down and take out your cooking books. Turn to page 105.
Cooking…one of Runescape’s best skills. Required for making drinks as well as cooking food so that you can heal!
Throughout this following section, you will learn techniques that the high level chefs use to train and other techniques to make it less boring.
1. Listen to music while training - Many high level chefs listen to music while training their cooking. I also listen to music when I am training my cooking so that I am not as annoyed by having to cook some two thousand fish.
2. Uncert, Cook and Cert again - Many high level chefs also buy lobster certs for training. They then grab a tinderbox and hatchet and uncert 5 certs at a time, cooking them. They then cook and cert back the cooked lobsters to sell for more money so that they can get more raw certs.
3. Play the market - All chefs of any level mostly play the market. They will buy raws for around one thousand gold and then sell the cooked for around one thousand, two hundred gold. This makes a profit and allows them to train better. Because, figure this. If you buy five hundred raw lobster certs for one thousand gold each, this will be five hundred thousand gold. Then, if you sell them for one thousand, two hundred gold each, and lets say you only burn fifty certs so that you have four hundred and fifty to sell, you make a profit of fourty thousand gold!
IV. Training
Level 1-15
For level one through fifteen, it is best that you go killing cows or chickens for meat and cooking it. This is pretty quick experience for these levels and you will gain fifteen in no time.
Level 15-30
This will be a bit harder then the previous, but it is obvious. Go and get yourself a net. Head to draynor fishing spot, it is beside the wizard tower, or head to Karajma. Bring a tinderbox and hatchet and start fishing. Get a full load, cut down a tree and set it on fire. Cook your fish and drop the burnt fish. Eat the cooked. Repeat.
Level 30-45
This is where cooking starts being a little hard to train. You have two choices now, you can go and continue fishing shrimp/anchovies for experience, or you can go on and start cooking salmon and trout for levels. To do this, it requires atleast twenty fishing because that is the level for trout. You need level thirty to catch salmon. You will need to buy feathers. You may buy from the shop or buy from other players, which is the quicker way. Buy them in bulk, about five hundred of them. They cost about ten to twenty gold each.
Hint: Go to a free to play world and then go to the Falador chicken pen beside Port Sarim. Many low levels will sell you feathers for one or two gold each.
Level 45-60
You are going to hate training this, but you will eventually be glad of it. To do this, I say fish tuna. You can still do the salmon and trout if you want though. Get a harpoon, hatchet, and tinderbox and go to Karajma. Go to the fishing port and start fishing tuna. This will require thirty fishing. Cook the tuna, eat the cooked or sell to the pures who are on the port buying food, and then drop your burnt
Level 60-99
You should get cooking guantlets now so that you will no longer burn lobsters at level 65. You can get these by completing the “Family Crest” quest. You should now cook lobsters for levels. I recommend buying them for one thousand gold. Go to Draynor with the certs, a tinderbox, and a hatchet. Start uncerting five certs a time. Light a fire and cook them. Cert them again. Do this until you are out of certs. Now, go and sell the certs for one thousand, two hundred gold. Repeat until eighty-five cooking. Now, before you cook that last one for ninety-nine, please invite me to the big last cook. I love to see people who have used my guides achieve a goal of major porportions.
