Fletching Guide
Training Methods
Level’s 1-25
The easiest, and best, method of getting to level 25 Fletching is by making arrow shafts. Simply go to a well forested area. A good spot is the forest between Lumbridge and Draynor. Do not make your logs into Longbows or Shortbows because it will just take up space, and waste your time dropping them. Continue this until you reach level 25.
Level’s 25-40
At level 25 you can begin to make Oak Longbows. You have three different options for getting to level 40. The first option is to make Oak Longbows (unstrung). It is a waste of a good bowstring to string these. The second option is to continue to make arrow shafts, and make them into arrows. This is the option that most people pick because arrows can actually be used. Continue to cut shafts. Then either buy feathers or collect them yourself. Put the feathers onto the shafts. Then you can buy arrowheads, or bars and put heads onto your arrows. You can sell these arrows on the forums and make a bit of cash, or keep them for your own personal use. If you are not interested in Ranging or making the money, and just want fast experience, just do the highest bow you can make. At 35, you can start on willow shorts. It only takes about 450 willow shortbows to get to 40 fletching. This can sometimes be fast then spending time on collecting all of the items needed to make arrows.
Level’s 40-70
Now you can make the willow longbow. At this stage you can make willow longbows (unstrung) until level 70. This is probably the best method. Begin buy either buying or having a large stockpile of willows, then fletch them. If you need cash, you can sell them to the general store for 14 gp - 20 gp each. Even though you do lose money, this is definitely the quickest and best. Sometimes, players will trade willow logs for unstrung willow longbows.
Level’s 70-85
At level 70, you can finally begin to make money with Fletching. The only worthwhile method of training is the Yew Longbow. The best method for making money efficiently with Yew Longbow’s is to buy Yew Logs and Bowstrings, try to budget yourself for 550 gp in supplies per bow (350-360 gp for a log, 200 gp for a bowstring) That should be the most you would want to spend on a bow. Once your bow is made you have 2 different options. The first option, is the quickest, easiest, and most profitable. Sell the Yew Longbow for 600 gp - 620 gp. The second option is to alch your bows. This method is only profitable if you made the nature rune’s yourself, since the bows only alch for 768 gp. If you wish to use this method, be prepared to lose money and spend extra time doing, but you will get extra experience in Magic.
Level’s 85-99
Once you reach level 85, another option is available. Magic Longbows. Magic Longbow’s are a great option for people who wish to alch and make a bit of a profit. Try to budget yourself at 1, 200 gp per bow. Then buy natures for 300ea, and alch. You’ll make about 50 gp profit per 1000 bows made, but you’ll get Magic Experience too. If you do not plan on alching your bows, stick to yew longs. The experience between the two are quite similar, and there is a larger profit with Yew Longs. When you reach 99 Fletching, you can finally call yourself a Master Fletcher!
