Herblore is the skill used to make potions, poisons, and antidotes. There are many things that you can make such as Weapon poison, Restore prayer potion, Super strength potion, Poison antidote, etc… Each one does different things and requires a different level to make.

Identifying Herbs

Identifying herbs help to raise your herblore level. The higher your herblore level, the more you can identify. Click on the herb to identify it. It will show you the name of the herb in the message area or that it requires a higher level of herblore to identify (it does not tell the level needed, this would give away what the herb is). Below is a list of herbs, the required level to identify each, and the experience gained for identifying.

Making Potions

Pestle and Mortar (for ground ingredients)
second ingredient (Snape Grass shown)

Making potions helps to raise your herblore level. The higher your herblore level the more potions you can make. Several items are needed to make potions; they are a vial, water, an herb, and a second ingredient (listed in the chart below). Some of the second ingredients can be bought in stores or found and others are dropped by enemies.

To make a potion: first fill the vial with water, add the herb, then add the second ingredient. (The herb must be added before the second ingredient.) When you make a potion it will be 3 doses, you can combine two 2 dose potion or one 1 dose and one 3 dose to make 4 dose potions.

* Some of the second ingredients need to be ground. This is done with a pestle and mortar (purchased at an Herblore Shop).
* * These herbs are not dropped by enemies. They must ‘purchased’ with Agility Tickets from the Brimhaven Agility Arena (see Agility), grown (see Farming), or bought from other players.
* * * These potions are made with a Vial of Coconut Milk, not water. Use a hammer with a Coconut, then use the milk with a vial. Make the potion as usual.
* * * * You must finish the Zogre Flesh Eaters Quest to make this potion.
* * * * * You must finish the In Aid of the Myreque Quest to make this potion.
* * * * * * You must finish the Hero’s Quest to make this.

NOTE: Cactus Spines can be grown (level 55 Farming required) or bought from other players.
NOTE: Nightshade (Belladonna) can be grown (level 63 Farming required). If you have finished the Watchtower Quest, it can be found in the caves near Gu’Tanoth (Ogre City south of Yanille). Before you enter the caves you will need the Skavid Map and a light source. If you do not still have the Skavid Map you will need 20gp to jump over the rocks on the way to get it (other guards let you pass for free). To get the map, talk to a City Guard (level 83), you can follow Step 7 of our guide to get there. Tell the City Guard that you lost your map, he will give you a new one. (I found the Nightshade in the north western most cave.)

Anti-FireBreath Potion	Combine this potion, the Anti Dragon Breath Shield, and the Protect from Melee Prayer and you will receive little to no damage from dragons (except the King Black Dragon)
Ranging Potion	Raises Ranged by 15%
Extra-Strong Weapon Poison Potion	Extra-Strong Weapon Poison 1 vial will poison 1 dagger, 1 spear, 5 arrows, 5 javelins, 5 knives, or 5 bolts *
Magic Potion	Raises Magic by 4 points
Zamorak Potion	Raises Attack and Strength, restores Prayer, lowers some Combat Skills randomly
Super-Strong Antipoison Potion	Cures poison, prevents poison for a short time
Saradomin Brew	It gives a big boost to hitpoints and defence. It gives a small reduction to attack, strength, magic and ranged.
Super-Strong Weapon Poison Potion	Super Strong Weapon Poison 1 vial will poison 1 dagger, 1 spear, 5 arrows, 5 javelins, 5 knives, or 5 bolts *

* Barbed Bolts, Opal Bolts, and Pearl Bolts can not be poisoned

Poison

Poisoned items:

poison arrow (steel shown)
poison bolt
poison dagger (dragon shown)

Weapon poison can be used on arrows, bolts, daggers, javelins, knives, and spears. Once poisoned, the enemy slowly takes damage until the poison wears off, they drink a Antipoison potion, or a Super Antipoison potion. As an added bonus Super Antipoison potion gives the player an immunity against poison for a few minutes.
